Can we just say it? Most Sunday School curriculum is the worst, and theologically problematic for diverse congregations. Big companies don’t know that Max hates icky things on his hands, that Maddie loves science experiments, and that Avery will only use yellow crayons. And why, oh why, does any curriculum call for glitter? Do they just want to make our lives miserable?
I will work with your vision, and budget, to personally curate curriculum to meet the unique needs of your community and the ways God is showing up and showing off in your context. This support includes finding creative ways to use up all the ribbon Janet donated to the Sunday School kids last year, or the really large jug of brown paint that you don’t know what to do with before it dries out.
Does the preacher use a lectionary? Great – let’s connect the learnings for families. Does the preacher use sermon series? Great – let’s connect the learnings for families. Does the preacher make it up every week and you are lucky if you get the scripture by Friday? Great – let’s breathe, have some coaching sessions, then connect learnings for families.
